Change your payout bank account
Send future payouts to a different bank account by entering the new account and uploading a verification document for review.
Chapter admins can change the bank account your chapter's payouts go to, in the web app (not the mobile app). This page covers linking a new bank account, linking a Crowded account, what happens during the review, and changing the payout account of a separate merchant such as a housing corporation. The new account needs a verification document and a short review by our payment processor before payouts switch to it.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- The new account's routing number and account number, and the account holder's name. Take them from a recent bank statement, not an old checkbook: old checks are often from closed accounts.
- A bank statement, voided check, or bank verification letter that shows the account number, routing number and your organization's name. It must be a PDF, JPG or PNG under 10 MB.
The account must be a bank account that can receive ACH deposits.
Steps
- Select your profile picture in the top-right corner and choose My Chapter.
- Open the Payouts tab.
- Under Payout Account, select Change.
- Choose Link a new bank account.
- Optional: enter an Account nickname (optional) so you can tell accounts apart.
- Drop your verification document in the upload box, or click it to choose the file.
- Enter the Account Holder Name, Routing Number and account number.
- Select Save Bank Account.
Link a Crowded account instead
If your chapter banks with Crowded, the Change dialog also shows Link a Crowded account. Choose it, pick the Crowded account, and select Link followed by the account's name. You'll see: Request sent! MyGreek support will link your Crowded account as the payout account and follow up when it's done. Until then, the Payout Account card says Your request to link your Crowded account is with MyGreek support. See Banking with MyGreek.
Payout accounts for other merchants
If your chapter collects some payments through a separate merchant (for example, a housing corporation), each merchant has its own payout account. Only that merchant's managers can change it, even if you're a chapter admin. Managers see the Merchants tab in My Chapter, and the Access column lists who has access to each merchant.
- Select your profile picture in the top-right corner and choose My Chapter.
- Open the Merchants tab.
- Under Payout Account, select Change on that merchant's row.
- Follow the same steps as for the chapter's account.
While a review is in progress, the row shows Change under review. If Change is grayed out and hovering over it shows Only this merchant’s managers can change its payout account, ask one of the people in Access to make the change, or contact support@mygreek.us. MyGreek configures merchants; contact support to add or remove one. See Payouts to a separate merchant.
What happens next
- You'll see: Your new payout account was submitted. Our payment processor will review the verification document — payouts keep going to your current account until the new one is approved.
- While it's under review, the Payout Account card says New account … is under review. Payouts continue to your current account until it's approved. Change is turned off until the review finishes.
- Payouts keep going to your current account until the new one is approved.
- Once it's approved, the new account shows with a Verified label. The old account moves to Previous payout accounts and is marked Archived.
- If it isn't approved, you'll see: Your last payout account change was not approved. Contact support for details, or try again with an updated verification document.
We don't email you the result, so check the Payout Account card.
Changing the account doesn't re-send payouts your bank already returned. If a payout failed, email support@mygreek.us after you update the account. See A payout was returned by your bank.
Common questions
Why can't I see the Payout Account card?
Only chapter admins can see and change the payout account. Ask an admin to make the change. See Add or remove an admin.
Why is the Change button grayed out?
A payout account change is already under review. Wait for it to finish, or email support@mygreek.us.
It says "This bank account is already your payout account"
You entered the account payouts already go to. Nothing needs to change. If a payout was returned, check the numbers with your bank before entering them again.
Can I change the payout account in the mobile app?
No. Use My Chapter → Payouts in the web app.
How long does the review take?
It depends on our payment processor. Payouts keep going to your current account in the meantime. If it's taking longer than you expect, email support@mygreek.us.
