Plans
Change the card on a payment plan
Switch the card or bank account your plan payments come from, in the web app, mobile app or pay.mygreek.us.
The person who pays the plan changes its payment method themselves. Treasurers can't change it for you. Where you do it depends on who pays the plan:
| Who pays the plan | Where to change the card |
|---|---|
| You, the member | The MyGreek web app, the mobile app, or pay.mygreek.us |
| A parent or someone else paying for you | Only that person, at pay.mygreek.us |
If someone else pays your plan, the web and mobile apps don't show a change option to you.
Before you start
- You can change the card on a plan that is approved or still waiting for treasurer approval. A canceled, expired or completed plan can't be changed. Set up a new plan instead.
- If your treasurer proposed a plan to you, you choose the payment method when you accept it.
- On a plan that covers several charges, the new payment method is used for every charge in it.
Steps in the web app
- Go to My Balance. On the Payment Plans card, select View My Plans.
- Select the plan.
- Select Change Payment Method.
- Pick a saved payment method or add a new one, then select Continue.
- Select Confirm Change.
Steps in the mobile app
- Open the Plans tab and tap the plan.
- Next to Payment Method, tap Change.
- Pick a saved payment method or add a new one. Apple Pay can't be used for plan payments.
If you don't see Change, update the MyGreek app.
Steps for parents on pay.mygreek.us
- Go to pay.mygreek.us, enter the member's code and log in with the code sent to your phone.
- Select Continue to payment plans, then select the plan.
- Select Change Payment Method.
- Pick a saved payment method or add a new one.
- Select Confirm Change, then confirm again in the Change Payment Method? box.
What happens next
- You aren't charged when you change the card.
- Every future payment on the plan uses the new payment method, starting with the next one.
- If a payment failed and is waiting to be retried, the retry uses the new payment method.
Common questions
My payment failed. Should I change the card?
Yes, if the old card won't work. Change it before the retry date shown in the "Payment Failed" email. See A payment plan payment failed.
Can my treasurer change the card for me?
No. Only the person paying the plan can change it.
