Get started with MyGreek
The steps from registering your chapter to collecting your first payment, in the same order as the in-app Getting Started checklist.
This page takes a new treasurer or chapter admin from signing up to collecting the first payment. Steps 3 to 6 match the Getting Started checklist in the web app.
Where to find the Getting Started checklist
Chapter admins see a round checklist button in the bottom-left corner of the web app. Select it to open Getting Started. It lists each step, checks off the ones that are done and shows your progress. Select a step to go to the page where you do it.
Once all four setup steps are done, the checklist switches to Ongoing Tasks (see the end of this page). To hide the button, open the checklist and select Hide checklist. This only hides it in the browser you're using.
1. Register your chapter
Fill out the chapter application at app.mygreek.us/registration. You'll need your chapter's EIN, legal name and address, and you'll verify your identity. We review every application before a chapter can take payments. See Register your chapter.
2. Connect your payout account
You add the bank account where your chapter gets paid during registration, on the Payout Account step. Member payments are sent to this account as payouts. See How payouts work, or Change your payout account to use a different account later.
3. Import roster
Add your members by hand or import them from a spreadsheet. The checklist marks this step done once your chapter has at least 5 members. See Add one member and Import your roster from a spreadsheet.
4. Create a charge
Set up your first charge type, such as "Fall Dues", with its amount and due date. A charge type is the template; the charges members owe are made from it. The checklist marks this step done once your chapter has a charge type. See Set up charge types.
5. Bill members
Send charges to your members from a charge type. Each member gets the charge on their balance and a message with a link to pay. See Charge members.
6. Receive your first payment
This step is done when a member's payment goes through. Members pay in the web app, the mobile app or at pay.mygreek.us, and parents can pay for them. To see what members see, read How paying dues works.
Ongoing tasks
After setup, the checklist becomes Ongoing Tasks and shows only what needs you:
- Remind members to join: some members haven't finished setting up their account. See Send, resend and rescind invites.
- Propose payment plans: some members have a balance but no payment plan. See Propose payment plans.
When neither applies, the checklist button goes away.
