Organize members into groups
Create groups like New Members or Exec so you can bill, message or give access to them together.
A group is a set of members you pick, such as New Members, Exec or Live-in. Officers with Manage Groups can create, rename and delete groups. Officers with Manage Group Membership can add and remove members.
Create a group
- In Members, select the Groups tab.
- Select Add Group.
- Enter a Name, pick a Color, and select Submit.
Add or remove members
- In the Groups tab, select the group.
- Select + Member.
- Search for each member and select + Add, or - Remove for someone already in the group.
- Select Close.
You can also remove someone with the delete button on their row in the group.
New members can join groups automatically: when you create a join link, choose groups under Auto-add to groups. See Share a join link. A group column in a roster import also adds members to groups.
Rename or delete a group
In the Groups tab, use the edit button on the group's row to change its name or color. To delete it, use the delete button, type the group's name to confirm, and select Delete Group. Deleting a group can't be undone, but it doesn't touch the members or their charges.
What you can do with a group
- Charge the group: open the group and select + Charge, or pick it under Custom Groups when you select members to charge. See Charge members.
- Charge several groups different amounts: in Charges, Multi-Group Charge charges each group its own amount on one charge type. A member who's in two of the groups you pick gets both charges. Members in collections are skipped.
- Message the group: pick it under Custom Groups when you choose recipients for an announcement. See Send an announcement.
- Share a budget or ledger: give a group access with Manage Access on a budget, ledger or category. See Create a budget.
When you charge or message a group, it goes to the people in the group at that moment. Adding someone later doesn't send them past charges or messages. Budget and ledger access follows the group, so new members of the group get access and removed ones lose it.
